Tractor Safety School  -  January 19, 2008 Local NYCAMH (New York Center for Agricultural Medicine & Health) representative, Dave Tetor, led a 3-hour safety seminar at our dealership promoting farm and equipment safety.   For more information on maintaining a safe farm environment contact NYCAMH at 1-800-343-7527 or www.nycamh.com.   New York State is continuing its ROPS retrofit rebate program.  For approval and assistance call 1-877-ROPS-R4U or visit their web-site at www.ropsr4u.com . Tractor and equipment operators gathered from all over the area to learn how to maintain a safe farm environment.   Dave illustrated how easy it is for a person to become wrapped around a PTO shaft.    Volunteers from the crowd tested reaction times.  Safety was covered from head to toe.  Sam proved the importance of always wearing a hard hat. Service manager, Ray Coons, went over safety precautions on and around tractors and farm equipment.  Do you know what that triangle shaped sign means?  Every tractor or piece of equipment should have a Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) sign posted when traveling under 25mph.
